Open Air Chassis

Remove External Packing Material

  • Before lifting the PC out of the crate, remove any larger or external packing materials (foam or Instapack) surrounding the PC.
  • Delicate parts, such as pipes or cables, can remain packed until the PC is lifted out.

Identify Safe Lifting Points

  • Lift from the bottom of the chassis, specifically from sturdy sections like the metal frame or solid base.
  • Avoid lifting from or placing pressure on fragile parts such as pipes, cables, the GPU, or fittings.

Lift the PC Out of the Crate

  • Use two people to lift the PC safely, ensuring both individuals support the base and sides.
  • Be careful to avoid any contact or pressure on sensitive components like exposed pipes or cables.

Remove Remaining Packing on Delicate Parts

  • Once the PC is safely out of the crate, carefully remove any packing material from delicate parts like pipes, cables, or fittings.

Tip:

  • Take your time removing packing materials to prevent damage.
  • Do not pull or force anything; if something feels stuck, double-check for additional packing materials or restraints.

Remove Internal Packing Materials

Open the PC Case (if necessary)

  • Internal packing materials will be inside the PC to secure components during shipping.

Carefully Remove Internal Packing

  • Look for foam or Instapak to secure components such as the graphics card (GPU), cables, pipes, and fittings.
  • Gently remove these materials, taking care not to disturb delicate parts.

Tip:

  • If you encounter resistance, wiggle the packing material gently to release it.
  • For open-air chassis: Components are more exposed, so handle internal areas with additional caution.

Important

  • Keep All Packaging: Save the crate, box (if applicable), foam, and any packing materials. You’ll need these if you ever have to move or ship your PC again.
  • Inspect for Movement: After you unpack, check that nothing has shifted during shipping, such as loose cables, RAM, or the GPU.
  • Don’t Rush: Take your time and handle the unpacking process carefully.
