The following instructions will guide you step by step through the update process, minimising risks and ensuring a successful update.

Important: Do not disconnect the power supply during the BIOS update. Avoid pressing any keys on the keyboard, mouse, or plugging or unplugging any devices. Failure to update correctly may result in the device failing to boot/POST.

  • Open the System Information program installed with Windows.
  • Locate the section that says "Baseboard Product".
  • Click on "Baseboard Product" and press Ctrl+C to copy the text.
  • Paste this into your preferred browser or search engine to find the support page for your motherboard model.

Download the BIOS Update

  • Navigate to the support page for your motherboard model.
  • Find the BIOS update file and download it.

  • Open the folder, and you should see the latest BIOS version file and a renamer program.
  • Open the renamer program and follow the instructions (usually pressing the spacebar) to rename your BIOS update file. It will rename the file to something like "TGB550PW".
  • Move the newly renamed BIOS update file to the main page of your USB drive.
