How to Reinstall Your WiFi Driver



If you're struggling to connect via WiFi or experiencing slow speeds, resetting your WiFi drivers might help. Before starting, ensure the WiFi antennae are connected to the two gold round connectors at the back of your PC.

Finding the Right WiFi Driver for Your Motherboard
Locate the Motherboard Model
- Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
- Type msinfo32 and press Enter.

- Click on BaseBoard Version to highlight it, and press Control + C to copy the information.
- Paste this into a Google search to find links to the specific motherboard model on the manufacturer's website (Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, etc.)

- Navigate to the appropriate link for your motherboard model.
- Once on the manufacturer's webpage, go to the Support section.

Head to the Motherboard's Website
- Navigate to the Drivers section, and then find the Wireless driver (often labeled WLAN or similar).
- Download the driver and save it for use later in this guide.
Steps to Reinstall Your WiFi Driver

- Once the file has been downloaded, locate the zipped folder, right-click it, and select Extract all.
- Extract it to your Desktop.
- Press the Windows logo key on your keyboard.
- Type Device Manager and open it.

- In Device Manager, find and expand Network Adapters.
- Right-click on your WiFi driver (look for names containing 'Wi-Fi', 'Wireless', 'WLAN', or similar).
- Select Uninstall Device.
- Check the box that appears to delete the driver.
- Restart your computer to complete the uninstallation process.

- After restarting, open the folder you extracted earlier on your Desktop. Run the Application file to begin the installation.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
