Removing Internal Packing Foam

Your Aftershock PC comes with foam packed inside to support critical internal components during transit. To ensure your system functions correctly, this foam must be removed before plugging in or booting up the PC for the first time. Follow these steps to safely remove the packing foam.
Why Should I Remove the Internal Packing Foam?
Removing the internal packing foam is essential to prevent potential damage to your PC's internal components. Leaving the foam inside can obstruct airflow, cause overheating, and potentially damage the hardware.
Steps to Remove Internal Packing Foam
Open Your Case
• Before proceeding, make sure the PC is completely unplugged from any power source.
• Double check as well that the power supply switch is set to OFF [0].
• The method for removing the glass side panel may vary depending on the chassis model. Generally, you will find thumb screws at the rear side of the panel or thumb grooves to assist in detaching it.
• Carefully remove the side panel and set it aside.
Remove the Foam
• Look inside the case for any foam packing materials. These are typically placed around critical components such as the GPU, CPU cooler, and other parts.
• Gently remove the foam, taking care not to disturb or damage internal components or wiring.
• Once all packing materials are removed, re-attach the glass side panel securely.
• Be sure to keep your internal packing materials! All our PCs come with at least a three-year warranty, so retaining these materials can be useful if the PC needs to be sent back to us for servicing.
