Checking CPU Temperature in the BIOS

Getting into BIOS

  • Turn off your PC as you normally would.
  • Then power on your PC again by pressing the power button.
  • Immediately begin pressing the DELETE key on your keyboard repeatedly. Make sure you're pressing the DELETE key, not the Backspace key!
  • Continue pressing the DELETE key until your system enters the BIOS.

  • Once in the BIOS, ensure you're in Easy Mode. If you're not automatically taken to this mode, switch to it from the menu or by pressing the shortcut key (commonly F7, but this may vary by manufacturer).
  • In Easy Mode, look for a readout displaying the CPU temperature, typically found at the top of the screen.

Check CPU Temperature

  • Once in the BIOS, ensure you're in Easy Mode. If you're not automatically taken to this mode, switch to it from the menu or by pressing the shortcut key (commonly F7, but this may vary by manufacturer).
  • In Easy Mode, look for a readout displaying the CPU temperature, typically found at the top of the screen.
